The Chair will link and further develop the existing activities in relevant fields and generate external resources to facilitate R&D and technology transfer. Direct contact and liaison with the broad based wood building industries (resource, wood products manufacturers, architects, design consultants, engineers and the construction sector) and the building development sector is critical to expand the use of wood in building construction.

Since the BC government’s announcement of the contribution to Chair in Wood Building Design and Construction in 2005, major fund raising effort targeted donors from industry and design community to establish the required matching funds. Funding for the Chair comes from the following sponsors:
